Encara que, intelectualment, a obra de Peter Maurin ye pro més inferior que a de pensadors de l’altária de Chesterton u Belloc −á qui pren como alacet d’a suya envista d’a economia−, vitalment o suyo heréncio ye digno d’acobaltar.

Naixito de Burdeus en 1877, Peter Maurin estió o caganiedos d’una família de labradors pobres d’o sur de Fráncia que tuvon 21 fillos. Emigró ta Canadá en 1908, d’an que pasó t’os Estatos Unitos ta, á la fin, acoflar-se en Nueva York, an que vivió dic’a suya muerte en 1949.
En o periodico The Catholic Worker, que emprencipió á editar en 1933 junto á Dorothy Day, publicó una série de chiquetas composicions, que clamó Easy Essays. Con estes textos, breus e de buen leyer, aduyó á espardir en Norte America o distributismo d’es devantditos Chesterton e Belloc e a doctrina social d’a Ilésia inspirata en a Enciclica Rerum Novarum d’o Papa Lion XIII.

SECULARISM
When religion has nothing to do with/ education,/ education is only information,/ plenty of facts/ and no understanding./ When religion has nothing to do with/ politics,/ politics is only factionalism—/ “Let’s turn the rascals out/ so our good friends can get in.”/ When religion has nothing to do with/ business/ business is only commercialism./ And when religion has nothing to do with/ either education, politics or business,/ you have the religion of business taking / the place of the business of religion.
